about

"The Mountain King delves into a universal, sweeping sound with the colossal riffage of “Hitting Stellar Pipes”. Going for a truly massive immersion every single element of the work feels alive, from the hypnotic quality of the elongated drones to the dollops of distortion that permeate the entirety of the album. Layer upon layer comes into the mix at times giving it a unique form of mysticism. While carefully nestled within the confines of doom, they draw from elements of La Monte Young’s ethereal techniques. At times the sheer scope of the undertaking feels reminiscent of Earth’s pivotal “Earth 2: Special Low Frequency Version”.

Akin to constantly coming into focus they open things up on an extremely high note with the intense title track “Hitting Stellar Pipes”. Throughout the sonic exploration the Mountain King ensures that the piece possesses its own intensity. By the time the vocals enter into the mix the mood has most definitely been set, with the drums working on an emotional level more so than any traditional time-keeping. “Call Of Mothra” has a wild, feral spirit to it. Over the course of the piece little elements of classical flutter in and out, never overstaying their welcome. Effortlessly bringing it all to a majestic ending is the dramatic turn of “Mothra’s Legacy I (Egg)”.

With “Hitting Stellar Pipes” The Mountain King crafts a meditative journey, one that incorporates a wide variety of colors into its surreal trace."

Track Name: Hitting Stellar Pipes
Graphene architecs connecting the dots
Burn and press the dead into twodimensional bricks
Building stellar pipes
The royal way of smoking
Hitting stellar pipes
A whole galaxy of weed
Just dipped my big toe into the vast ocean that is space
Every inch now a soothing light year into the haze
Whoever builds the pipe gets to set it ablaze
He takes the first dive
Standing on the rim of melting away
Track Name: Call Of Mothra
The universe won't hide anything from you
It simply don 't care
You cannot see what isn't there
You cannot hear what has always been there
I need to hear the call
